From the city, here is a brief update to the Cleary and New Orchard Planning Study.
Since the first public open house held on June 4th, 2016:
• City staff have met with the project’s Working Group seven times. This Group represents a wide range of interests in the study area and includes representatives from community associations, the Bay and Kitchissippi Ward offices, property and business owners, a consultant and others.
• Working Group presentations and discussions have included topics such as current zoning permissions, potential massing and height of future buildings, providing community benefits associated with future development, achieving future parkland, etc.
• General planning directions are now being developed and they will be presented to the public for consultation in the new year. You will be given advance notice by email when that date has been secured.
• City staff have been working closely together to ensure coordination between this project, the Richmond Road Complete Street project and the Connectivity Study, which plan the future of the Richmond Road, Byron Linear Park and Byron Avenue corridor.
