Thelma Harding and Beth Nolan were awarded the Carlington Community Health Centre achievement award at the annual general meeting on June 23. Beth and Thelma were nominated by the Westboro Beach Community Association for their work with the Van Lang Tenants Group. They have worked with the Westboro Beach Community Association and partnered with Carlington and the Dovercourt Recreation Centre to bring the community together to advocate for new programs and improvements to the buildings and outdoor spaces. Their hard work on behalf of the community led to the new neighbourhood field house on Van Lang Private which is now under construction.
In the photo, Thelma (second from right) is seen with her plaque with Cameron McLeod, director of Carlington, part-chair of the Carlington board Catherine Thomas and Janet Bowes, director of the Health Promotion and Counselling Team. Beth was unable to attend the event.
