WESTBORO BEACH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

2014 SPRING BIRD WALK

The WBCA spring bird walk this year will once again, to our good fortune, be led by Lanark Avenue residents Keith Rimstad and Lily Mah-Sen and will take place as follows:

Date: Sunday May 4, 2014 (unless it is pouring rain)
Time: 8:30 am until around noon
Meeting place: parking lot at the north end of Carleton Avenue (at the path which leads to the underpass under the SJAM parkway) over in the Champlain Park area.  We will work our way back on foot through the woods and along the river to our area.
Dress: dress for the weather and for mud
Binoculars: bring it along with a bird identification book if you have one
Donations: There is no fee.  Donations to WBCA would be welcome.

Please register for this community event at merodger@ncf.ca.  Attendance is limited. Exercise, informative, fun and not to be missed!

NEIGHBOURHOOD CLEAN-UP

Please consider cleaning up garbage along your street, the CBC pathway, the transitway, the beach and the shoreline and other public property over the weekend of May 3 and 4. If garbage bags and gloves are needed there will be some available on the driveway at 236 Royal Avenue.

If you have collected a large amount, or large items, of garbage, please call 3-1-1. Let them know that you want some garbage picked up as part of the spring clean-up campaign. And lastly please email us back (westborobeach@gmail.com) by replying to this email on the amount of garbage you managed to pick up and how many of you have participated. We will send the information along to the City as part of the WBCA report on its clean-up effort.

THANK YOU
