Greening of Westboro Beach

The City of Ottawa forestry department planted three trees this month in the Roy Duncan Park located at the corner of Churchill and Scott Avenues to replace ones that had to be taken down due to Dutch elm disease. The new trees are a white pine, a burr oak and a sugar maple.

The greening committee of the Westboro Beach Community Association planted 35 burr oaks in a greenspace near the entrance to Westboro Beach at  Churchill.   The new trees as well as the many shrubs and bushes sold in the spring tree sales  campaign will ensure the greenness of the Westboro Beach neighbourhood.
