Community Meeting on the
Planned Scotthill - Van Lang Field House
Although located in the Van Lang Housing Community, the Van Lang Field House is open for participation and use by the entire community. Please plan to attend the meeting and learn more about it. We will be seeking your feedback at our AGM scheduled for November.

This project is Phase III of the WBCA plan for the Van Lang Housing area. It has been made possible with the generous support of Councillor Katherine Hobbs and in partnership with Ottawa Community Housing (OCH), Dovercourt Recreation Centre, Carlington Community Health Centre and the Van Lang Housing Tenants.
The building of the Field House is being led by OCH. OCH wants to share its preliminary designs and would like feedback on the types of programming and services you would like to see offered. This is your chance, please consider attending the meeting.

Saturday, Aug 17th - Ottawa Beach Bash 2013 - Westboro Beach
It is a one-day arts and music festival showcasing local music, art, business and art based initiatives.
The day will feature 8 local bands, live visual artists, DJs spinning tunes into the late evening, and even a live yoga session! Local businesses will also be on-site offering diverse and innovative products to attendees.
Best of all...entrance is by donation, so pay what you can, everyone can attend!

Westfest Activities at the Churchill Centre
The following events will be held at the Churchill Seniors Centre at 345 Richmond Road
in the heart of Westboro.
Salads, home-baked goods, hot and cold drinks will be served
from the canteen at all the events.
Free admission to all events.
Friday June 7, 8:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Spirits of the Past: a Churchill Historical Ghost Walk
Listen to the ghost stories experienced by staff that work in the building. Learn about its history and historical uses by our resident historian and author, Bob Grainger.
Saturday June 8, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Join in the spirit of fun and music. There will be a live band playing jigs and reels. A caller will walk everyone through the dances which are based on traditional country dances. The dancing doesn't require any experience and is suitable for all ages.
Sunday June 9, 9:00- 6:00p.m.

Vendors and Services will have booths, open from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. Participating vendors are listed after the program.

Please be aware that the Westboro Beach neighbourhood has been experiencing car break-ins even though most were locked, and we have been made aware of one stolen car. Please be sure not to leave valuables in your car and call the police if you hear anything suspicious.
