Urban Design Guidelines for Low-Medium Density Infill Housing

Excerpt from the document introduction:

This is a series of design guidelines for infill housing to help
fulfill some of the design strategies for Ottawa as outlined in
the Official Plan. It is intended as a basic framework for the
physical layout, massing, functioning and relationships of
infill buildings. Developers, designers and property owners
are encouraged to use the guidelines and even go beyond
them to come up with ideas to further improve urban infill.

Residents of Selby and Ferndale want to leave their cars at home and walk directly to the Transitway and Superstore.

At the fall Annual General Meeting this request was made to our new MPP, Yasir Naqvi and he has agreed to meet with us to pursue how we can open the pathway at the east ends of Selby and Beechgrove. View map

An informal path once existed along the side yard of the Centre Jules Leger, but this was completely fenced in for the safety of the school population. The construction of an additional fence will be proposed to restore a public pathway between the two streets. Two overhead light standards already exist along the path but approximately 200 ft of fencing will be required.
